Business continuity implementation guidance to small ccTLD operators: playbook now available

Date

The TLD-OPS Standing Committee is proud to present the first version of the Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Playbook. Download the English version of the playbook here. Translations are forthcoming.

Over the past 2 years, the Country Code Names Supporting Organization (ccNSO) Top-Level Domain Operations (TLD-OPS) Standing Committee held a series of disaster recovery and business continuity workshops, including a Table Top eXercice (TTX) at ICANN66 in Montreal to test its draft disaster recovery and business continuity playbook. The first version of the playbook was released today, and serves as a basic business continuity strategy and implementation guide for small country code top-level domain (ccTLD) operators.

The playbook is targeted at upper and/or middle management at ccTLDs, with the commitment, sponsorship and mission to develop resilience against disruptive events in the form of a business continuity plan.

The playbook includes:

  • a suite of tools designed to help a ccTLD to perform their own table top exercise
  • a number of practical example tables that can be copied and used in the different stages of the Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity development and implementation
  • examples which could be used as templates or as inspiration to develop Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans
