Since few years more and more registries have been profiling themselves through various social media which have become a key communication channel to reach out to existing stakeholders and possibly, new customer segments. The presentation will explain the EURid social media strategy and how it has been regularly adapted to meet the .eu stakeholders needs and expectations.

Between 2011 and 2013 we noticed a sharp decline in registration of .il domain names and criticism about the Association activities in the Israeli community increases. In 2013 we launched a campaign to promote ISOC-IL and its main activities. Being a successful technology body and a community leader are key factors in being a successful registry.

Name Collision Mitigation – Francisco Arias, ICANN

The presentation will be about the Name Collision Occurrence Assessment, i.e., the set of measures that are being put in place by new gTLDs to mitigate the risk of name collision. The presentation will explain how name collision could also affect new ccTLDs.

IDN Programme Update ­ Sarmad Hussain, ICANN

One of the key agenda we would like to raise during this brief is the public comment call for the IDN ccTLD Fast Track Process (see https://www.icann.org/public-comments/idn-cctld-fast-track-2015-01-15-en),in addition to the general status update on the Generation Panels and the work on the Label Generation Ruleset (LGR) by the IDN program.

How to deal with transborder requests for domain seizures? – Bertrand de La Chapelle, Director, Internet & Jurisdiction Project

ccTLDs can have registrants outside of their country and even if it is not the case, all corresponding sites are accessible worldwide. Their content can be considered illegal in some jurisdictions, generating direct requests to DNS operators from public authorities in other countries. The Internet & Jurisdiction Project has facilitated a multi-stakeholder dialogue on these issues since 2012 and this session is an opportunity to present an update on this work and get feedback from the ccNSO community.

Developements in Arabic-script IDN, .ir progress report - Alireza Saleh, .ir

.ir is the biggest ccTLD in the region with more than 500,000 names. IRNIC is also the fastets growing TLD among other members according to the CENTR report for the year of 2013. The .ir marketing strategy as well as liberalising the .ir registration regulation in parallel with other vital factors will be analyzed to describe the dynamics responsible for the remarkable growth of .ir.

Furthermore, Persian community as one the biggest users of Arabic-script has been actively involved in IDN developments. Overview of TF-AIDN progress as well as Arabic script domain names needs and challenges including variants will be presented in detail.

Who is responsible for correct data – the registrant or the registry? – Lise Fuhr, .dk

In 2014 a new Domain Name Act was introduced in Denmark. Among the changes in the new Act there are two that have major implications on DK Hostmaster: First a demand for better Whois data; and second a demand for synchronization of registrant¹s data with the Danish Civil Registration Number Database – CPR, in order to ensure citizens who become anonymous in the CPR becomes anonymous in the Whois database simultaneously. This legislation has consequences on how you register a .dk–domain name from March 1, 2015.

CNNIC's Experience on Inter–ccTLD Cooperation – Liyun HAN, .cn

The ccTLD is the essential component of the internet infrastructure, thus the registries of ccTLDs are important constructors, operators and administrators of infrastructure in information society. CNNIC consistently attaches great importance to the cooperation with other ccTLD operators so as to enhance the inter–regional connectivity and has been seeking for more effective collaboration as well as the implementation. We also have made great progresses in this field, for example, we have established the strategic cooperation partnership with KRNIC and .RU ccTLD, including the aspects of Facility Sharing, Co–host Events, Strategic Partnership, Capacity Building, Information Sharing, Joint research. During this presentation, CNNIC is willing to introduce the efforts, the progresses and the experience of enhancing the cooperation with other ccTLD operators.
