The ccNSO Council now launches a call for volunteers for one (1) ccNSO appointed liaison to the Universal Acceptance Steering Group (UASG).
About this role
The UASG leadership will plan to meet regularly with the ccNSO nominee to learn more about the ccNSO's plans for UA and to discuss how UASG can help provide materials and other support. UASG leadership considers that a more regular communication through the liaison will help with the coordination and progress on UA. There is no term end, however each year the members of the Committee will be asked whether they want to continue to serve thereon.
How to apply
The liaison should be a representative of a ccTLD manager (whether the ccTLD manager is a member of the ccNSO or not).
If you are interested in applying, kindly send an e-mail to joke.braeken@icann.org. The call for volunteers will close on Wednesday, 16 March 2022 (23:59 UTC). By submitting your personal data, you acknowledge that your personal data will be processed in accordance with the ICANN Privacy Policy (https://www.icann.org/privacy/policy) and you agree to abide by the electronic Terms of Service (https://www.icann.org/privacy/tos)
About Universal Acceptance
Universal Acceptance is a foundational requirement for a truly multilingual Internet, one in which users around the world can navigate entirely in local languages. It is also the key to unlocking the potential of new generic top-level domains (gTLDs) to foster competition, consumer choice and innovation in the domain name industry.
To achieve Universal Acceptance, Internet applications and systems must treat all TLDs in a consistent manner, including new gTLDs and internationalized TLDs. Specifically, they must accept, validate, store, process and display all domain names.
