Call for Volunteers: ccNSO Guidelines Review Committee (GRC)

The ccNSO seeks additional volunteers for the ccNSO Guidelines Review Committee. The purpose of the ccNSO Guidelines Review Committee (GRC) is to review the current guidelines and to ascertain whether they reflect current practices and working methods, identify potential gaps, and based on this analysis propose changes to the current guidelines to the Council.

Workload & working method

Every member needs to be able to invest a few hours per month towards the work of the group. The group meets once every 2 weeks through telephone conferences (1 hour), and potentially in face-to-face meetings during the ICANN meetings. However, most work is done online.

Who can join?

Membership of the ccNSO GRC is open to all ccTLD managers, whether members or non-members of the ccNSO.

Once we have received your intent to join the GRC, the ccNSO Secretariat will send you a link to an online Public Data Consent Form. (consult the template here: https://ccnso.icann.org/about/personal-data-publication-consent-16feb18-en.pdf ) Via this form, you consent to ICANN processing data in order to add you as a member of the ccNSO Review Working Party and its mailing list(s). The form explains the information ICANN will process to administer your participation in the GRC and how the information will be used this purpose. It also describes the rights you have regarding your information.

The ccNSO Council will appoint the additional members to the GRC as soon as possible.

Scope of activities

The Committee will undertake the following activities:

  • Develop and maintain an overall schedule for review of guidelines in order to assist the Council and membership of the ccNSO to engage and provide timely input into the processes;
  • Develop a set of general principles for ccNSO guidelines;
  • Provide regular updates to the Council and community on the progress and anticipated developments via written updates, designated sessions at ccNSO meetings and other means, such as - but not limited to – webinars;
  • Propose the changes on a guideline by guideline basis to the ccNSO Council at regular intervals and in accordance with the adopted work plan;
  • After completion of the review of the Guidelines, review the Rules of the ccNSO;
  • Prepare and submit the Final Report to the Council. The Final Report should include at a minimum:
    • an overview of the considerations and principles taken into account by the GRC to conduct its analysis and proposed changes,
    • an overview of the guidelines reviewed,
    • recommendations, if any, to change the Rules of the ccNSO.
