Dr. Oscar Moreno is a passionate believer in the value of the knowledge
society and its transforming power to improve our future. He has so far
contributed in the following areas:
- The development of the research mind as
the basis of the knowledge society. In this capacity he has authored
many papers that have been published in prestigious journals and he has
managed more than $7,000,000 worth of federal and grants from NSF, NIH,
DOD, NSA, Intel and others. For his research he has been awarded as an
IEEE Fellow and is a member of the editorial board of journals and proceedings.
- He has registered and managed .pr for almost 20 years and has helped
develop it into a best of class technical excellence as well as service
to Puerto Rico and to the world knowledge society.
- The importance of
education for the dissemination of the seeds of the knowledge society.
In this area he has organized many research conferences. Furthermore
in this area he brought the ARIN and ICANN meetings to The Caribbean
( Puerto Rico).
